Become a Donor!

Winner of The Innovation in the Arts Access Award and recognized by the NJ State Council on the Arts, Arts Unbound is a small non- profit celebrating its tenth anniversary as an organization serving youth and adults with disabilities. Through the visual arts we have served many hundreds of people living with mental, physical and developmental disabilities by providing them with professional instruction in the arts and earnings opportunities as emerging or established artists who create fine art and craft. For many we are an oasis of calm, creativity and connection to the wider community of art lovers. The organization boasts a 15 member board of directors, an administrative staff of 5 professional staff, and the employment of 10 independent consultant art instructors who teach part time throughout northern New Jersey. Arts Unbound is financed through fee for service and retail sales, donations and the support of many foundations. Our annual audits reflect an organization that is well managed despite a shortage of dollars in critical areas. In order for us to survive long term we are seeking to raise $300,000 annually in private donor support (a third of our projected optimal income) that will enable us to pay our staff full time salaries and serve a growing body of students and artists all living with special needs including autism, cerebral palsy, serious mental illness, traumatic brain injury and mobility impairments.

This year we opened a boutique holiday gift shop in the village of Maplewood NJ which generated $30,000 in retail sales over a 4 month period. Members of the staff include people living with disabilities. Our permanent home is located in the Valley Arts District of Orange, NJ where we host a teaching studio and exhibition gallery.

We accept donations of all amounts from $25 to $25,000 and more. Donations are tax deductible. We are looking for individuals and corporations who believe in our mission and cause, who have a place in their hearts for the disabled and are lovers of the arts. Donors will be investing in an organization that has changed lives through the arts and which is looking to promote artists by creating retail venues for the purchase of Outsider artwork and craft. Our website, artsunbound.org, provides a closer look at what we do and who we are. Interested persons are welcome to pay us a visit and can contact me at 973 675 2787 or glevinson@artsunbound.org.

Many thanks
