Debbie Davidson always wanted to learn to sew -- but never thought she could.
While Debbie is a passionate can-do person, she had been isolated from
opportunities to learn and create art. Through the support of Jespy House, an
assisted living organization that supports adults living with learning and
developmental disabilities, she now lets nothing hold her back. When a northern
New Jersey based non-profit organization that supports artistic achievement
among adults living with disabilities came along, Debbie became one of its star
students. Through Arts Unbound, Debbie learned skills in fine arts and
vocational craft-making. This year alone, she made over 500 quilt squares and
now has quite a following among quilt collectors and home decorators.
Through Jespy House, Debbie found employment and independence. Through Arts
Unbound, Debbie found creative expression and a connection to hundreds living in
her community. Debbie enjoys attending events where she can meet people who
respond to her handiwork and offer encouragement. Debbie is a star.
