Originally from Rahway, New Jersey, Jeff now lives in South Orange, NJ in a supervised living residence called Jespy House. His favorite color is blue and he wears his favorite turquoise ring everyday. He can be seen walking around town wearing a fire fighter hat, heavily laden with tourism brochures, maps and beanie babies. He loves to check in on local business owners and friends and urge them to just "take it slow".
All of Jeff's work depict a perfect day in his life, in which the "Sun is in the Sky today". Every drawing or painting incorporates the same components of Sun, clouds, planes, trees, and his cozy childhood home with a front walk and smoke coming from a fireplace. These elements are obscured by paint or other materials once they are assembled on his canvas and surrounded by narrative text. Although Jeff is an intelligent and deeply caring person, learning disabilities and communication impairments have isolated him from social opportunities and prevented him from traditional employment. For Jeff, art represents a powerful vehicle for emotional expression, communication, and self-comfort.
Art collectors have been touched by Jeff's consistent and repetitive use of symbols to celebrate peace, joy, and childhood. His use of text, numbers, and dates incorporated into his compositions are his unusual and recognizable signature style.
Jeff participates in an artist-in-residence program with Pure Vision Arts, an AU sponsored studio program that supports AU artists with exceptional talent and ability. He is working to create pieces to submit for a Cooper Union art exhibition showcasing the artistic accomplishments of people living with autism.
