Ted is a huge fan of the Beatles, especially the song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". All of his work celebrates this song and incorporate three elements: Lucy, sky, and Diamonds. Early in his participation in Arts Unbound programs, his work consisted of literal representations of these three elements. Now, he uses varied techniques and materials for more abstract and interesting compositions depicting these same three elements.
Ted is from Homedale, NJ originally but now lives in South Orange at Jespy House, an assisted living facility for developmentally disabled. He is a terrific dancer and an all around jokester known to speak occasionally with a fake English accent. He openly admires attractive women. Although he is always a gentleman, he has been known to sing quietly under his breath, "I found my thrills" by Fats Dominoe when in the presence of an unusually beautiful woman. His Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds paintings were big sellers at the Arts Unbound booth at New York City's Annual Outsider Art Fair 2003.
Lately, Ted has been creating works of art that celebrate more of his favorite songs such as "Help", and "Yellow Submarine" by the Beatles.
